Meet Lioness Zen

The name came first. The music came later.

Keep what made you wiser. Release what made you smaller. Follow what still makes you shine.

Long before Lioness Zen became a recording artist, she was a pen name, the voice behind poems, reflections and a way of looking at the world. Years later, those words began finding another life through music.

The result is music that can be joyful, tender, sensual, searching or shadowed, but always human. The darkness is acknowledged. The light is still worth finding.

Each piece begins in my own words and is carried by my own voice, with modern AI-assisted creative tools helping shape the musical production.

Who Am I?

A fitting first question for a voice making its musical debut. Who Am I? began as poetry and returns as song, reflective, intimate and grounded in the belief that tenderness and strength can live in the same place.

From Poetry to Music

The words were waiting for their melodies.

Some Lioness Zen songs began years ago on a page. A poem captured the thought first, a relationship, a question, a shadow, a flash of joy. Music offered those words a different way to breathe.

This is where the original poems and the songs they became will meet: the story behind the words, what changed, what stayed, and what the music revealed that the page could not.

From page to performance

Some poems are complete exactly as they were written. Others keep asking for another life. When that happens, music can change the way a line feels, where it breathes, where it pauses, and which words stay with you. A melody can soften an old scar, bring a distant memory closer, or reveal something in the words that was always there but not yet heard. That connection between words and music is at the heart of how my poems find a new voice.

A short reflection on the journey from poem to music.

The Lioness Philosophy
“Any fool can find the bad in a day, the worst in another person, reason to give up hope. It is the lioness, who will always find a way to embrace what is good and wonderful in herself and others.”
